I was raised in Billings MT along with one older brother and three younger sisters. My father is a retired internal medicine physician. My mom, who passed away in 2006, was a nurse, artist extraordinaire, and a stay at home mom for most of her life. I had a very active childhood with camping, hiking, snow skiing, rock hunting, jewelry making, dog training, etc. We did something fun every weekend. I attended MSU in Bozeman and met my husband Bill (Electrical Engineer). We married the week after graduation and are still happily married. He is a building contractor and actually was awarded the Montana Home Builder of the Year Award in 2007 and was inducted into the Montana Builders Hall of Fame in 2010. I have been working at St. Peters Hospital in Helena since I graduated. I started in dialysis in 1974 with 2 Travenol RSP machines that you filled with a garden hose-- Much has changed since then! I am director of the dialysis center which is comprised of 13 stations. We do chronic and acute dialysis as well as home PD and hemodialysis training and followup. I also have done lots of other projects for our hospital including being the lead on design and implementation of computerized nursing documentation (completed in 2006) and a CPOE (Computerized Physician Order Entry) project in 2012. I was ANNA Western VP 2008-2010. I was the task force leader for the SIG to SPN change, as well as the SPN Liaison. I will be an ANNA Director 2014-16.
