Kidney Disease Awareness and Education Week - Your Time to Shine!

By Gayle Hall posted 07-14-2010 20:32

August 9-13 is Kidney Disease Awareness and Education (KDAE)  Week 2010!

This special week is set aside to invite policy makers (Federal, State, and Local) to visit nephrology programs (dialysis facilities, CKD programs, vascular access clinics, KEEP screenings) to learn about kidney disease, the needs of our patients, and the impact of our nursing profession.

2010 is a special year - an election year for the House of Representatives! And, healthcare reform and bundling are coming soon . . . .

Thank you to the many members who attended the Regional Health Policy Advisor Conference Calls, and those who have emailed kdae@annanurse.org for information and resources.

Are you planning an event for KDAE Week?  Please join the conversation and share  your plans with fellow nephrology nurses.

Chapters are able to earn STAR points as well as credits towards the Regional Health Policy Award.

Make 2010 YOUR year to Shine as an advocate for our patients and our profession!
