Billing for acute dialysis

Hello friends,

I am wondering if you would share with me what works for you in billing for acute dialysis treatments.  I am especially interested in contracted acute programs with multiple facilities/locations.  We are contracted to provide dialysis in 10 hospitals spread over about 50 mile radius.  It is difficult sometimes to get the treatment information sent to the data entry folks to audit and check before sending on to the people who actually handle sending out the billing.  So, I am interested in know ing your methods and what works for you.  Do you do all the billling preparation in a central location?  If so, how do you send information back and forth and how frequently?  Do you use a billing company?  If so, what one and would you recommend them?  Is your system computerized or manual or a blend of the two?  I'm just looking for ideas to use to speed up and simplify our process, so hope you can share some thoughts!

Thanks,
