blood transfusions

I work for a dialysis company doing acute dialysis in four hospitals in the buffalo area. One hospital would like us to run blood transfusions on a pump. Does anyone run blood transfusions on a pump during dialysis?

We also transfuse blood via the machine's blood pump with the blood tubing attached at the Y port on the saline line. We do, however use the IV pump for antibiotics.

We transfuse via the machine's blood pump with the blood tubing attached at the Y port on the saline line. We do not use a regular IV pump. Did they give a rationale?
