We have been having this problem at the chronic unit I work. In certain patients Hgb levels are low 6-6.5, we call the nephrologist, the patient is sent to the hospital for a blood transfusion, once the lab is drawn at the hospital the results are higher 8-9. We have been told we are not drawing blood the right way, I read in this blog about drawing samples after hemodialysis, could this help solve our issue, this is a technique that has not been implemented . I would appreciate your answers.
