Using the Resources

The resource library is a web-based service that allows ANNA leaders, committees, chapters and other groups to upload and share pertinent files of virtually any type for private or public access. Resource Libraries are areas that groups can use to share resources amongst fellow group members. Documents (including Word, Notepad, PowerPoint slide shows and Excel), video clips, audio clips or images can be added to a Resource Library.

The main Resource Libraries page will have a list of all the libraries that you have access to, according to your group affiliations.

How to Add a Resource

Once in the Resource Library section, click on the Add Resource link at the left. On the Add Resource page, you are able to add one file or a group of files under one heading.

Step 1: Describe Your Document (or Group of Documents)

  1. In the Title field, enter a heading for your document or group of documents. This is similar to creating a folder to hold the document(s).
  2. In the Description field, enter a brief summary of your document(s). This will help other members identify the document(s) when browsing or searching through the Resource Library.
  3. Click on the Library drop down menu and choose the library in which you want to store your document(s). Only Resource Libraries that you have access to will appear in the drop down box.
  4. Click on the Save button. You must click on the save button before you can upload any files!

Step 2: Upload Your File(s)

You can upload one or more documents by going through the following steps for each file you want to upload.

  1. Click on Browse button to find any file that you would like to choose from your computer.
    • Double click on the file to be uploaded or click on the file and then click open to select the file.
    • You can upload document(s) (including Word, Notepad, PowerPoint slide shows and Excel), video clips, audio clips or images.
  2. In the File Name field, enter a name for the file that is being uploaded. If you want the document's existing file name to display, don't type anything here.
  3. Click on the Upload button.
  4. If you would like to upload more than one file, repeat the above steps until all files have been uploaded.

Step 3: Add Tags/Keywords to Your Document

Currently there are no tags available.

After you click continue, you have successfully uploaded your file(s)! The "View Document" page will appear with your new resources. You can also go to the Resource Libraries tab and you will see the resource in your group's library.

How to View Documents

There are tabs at the top of the Resource Libraries to help you locate documents in various ways:

Most Recent - documents added within the past few days
Top Scorer - documents that have been highly scored by other users
Most Viewed - documents that have been most viewed by other users
Documents - word processing documents only
Slide Shows - presentation files only
Images - photos only
Audios - audio recordings only
Other - documents that do not fall under the listed categories above, such as video files

For each entry in the Resource Library, there is a page with more detail. To view or download the document(s) contained within the resource heading, click on the title heading link. This will give you all the information the user posted for this resource. Under the words "File(s) in this Document" is a list of files that are grouped under this heading.
