When you heard about ANNA Connected, did you react the same way I did? “Please don’t give me yet another place I have to log in to receive messages!”
Well, it doesn’t have to be that way. If you set up your subscriptions, you can receive messages from ANNA Connected automatically into your e-mail. The e-mail that will be used is the one you specified when you joined ANNA or renewed your membership. For this to work, ANNA needs to have your current e-mail address. You can update it at ANNA’s web site – www.annanurse.org – in the ‘edit my information’ area (only visible after you log into this site).
Once you know your e-mail address is correct, you can set up ‘subscriptions’ on ANNA Connected. To do so, log into ANNA Connected and click on the eGroups item in the top blue menu bar. At the left, you will now see a menu – select the ‘My Subscriptions’ item. For each of your eGroups, you now have the option of getting your messages with the following options:
- ‘Real Time’ – sends you an e-mail message as soon as an eGroup posting is created.
- ‘Daily Digest’ – sends you one message per day if anything has been sent to that eGroup
- ‘PDA’ – Not functioning at this time.
- ‘No E-mails’ – doesn’t send you anything and you will have to log into ANNA Connected to get any messages
- ‘Unsubscribe’ - prevents any e-mail message from being sent to you for this item
- Reset – if editing your preferences and you want to go back to the way these items were set when you started (because you believe you made a mistake), resets back to the way it was when you logged in.
Click in the radio button you wish and then click on the ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the screen.
Now you’re receiving communications based on what fits your schedule best!
