Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) was established in 2003 as an independent incorporated non-profit foundation governed by an international Board. The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Kidney Disease Outcomes Quality Initiative (NKF KDOQI)™ program has provided evidence-based guidelines for all stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and related complications since 1997. These guidelines are recognized throughout the world for improving the diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease.
