Adequacy of dialysis

Final

A term used to describe the removal of urea (reflects concentrations of other more harmful uremic toxins) and solutes such as phosphorus and middle molecules.  In hemodialysis this is based on thrice weekly dialysis.  Kt/V is a measurement of adequacy. Adequacy in peritoneal dialysis (PD) includes measurements of creatinine and glucose transport.  A measurement of blood and effluent levels can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of PD therapy.
