Symptom management of individuals with chronic disease. This approach to care is aimed at improving of life of patients and families facing life-threatening disease through prevention, assessment of pain and other physical, psychological, and spiritual problems. Hospice is symptom management with an anticipated life-limiting illness of six months or less.
