See also aluminum toxicity.  ARBD is rarely seen, but when present may be manifested by bone pain, fractures and proximal muscle weakness, hypercalcemia, variable elevation of PTH.  Dialysis dementia, in which the patient becomes confused, is related to aluminum toxicity.
