Acadiana -Chapter # 252 is home based in Shreveport, Louisiana. The role of Chapter President has offered many rewarding and exhausting moments this year. I would like to take this ANNA Connected moment to say a special thank you to my fellow officers and committee members. Their outstanding commitment to their profession and specialty is demonstrated in their dedication to the renal community they serve.
This past week while under the stress of the Joint Commission surveyors on site in their facilities, developing a strategic plan to offset the repercussion’s of a major acute care hospital closing unexpectedly in our city, and their children returning to school, these nurse’s and associate members gave their Thursday night to me and our chapter. We presented a CEU on wheel s event that hosted over 60 attends for a two hour program.( A record show for us).
Like the sails of a well kept ship, each member preformed their assigned task and without even a moan of exhaustion. The Acadiana Team enlightened the community on the benefits of peritoneal dialysis as an option for renal replacement therapy. I am very proud of this chapter, our members, and especially the Executive committee. It has been proven for many years that you lead and guide by example. I am proud to serve among this group of leaders. Thank you to Mary Michael Bogues-president-elect, Angi Osborne-Health Policy Representative, Gwen Ashley-secretary, Mary Zapczynski- treasurer, Chris Dixon and Ty Belteton-Committee chairpersons and to all our members who continuously support us and our goals to fulfill the ANNA mission statement. Thanks Guys –job well done! Now go home and rest!
